            How is Ilarion extraordinary? Let me count the ways!

            She is wise and smart, deep and funny, right in the “here and now” and yet also incandescent. You know that adage about having your feet on the ground but your head in the clouds? That fits Ilarion in the best way. But perhaps more than anything, her heart is full of her own special loving-kindness that guides her actions and her spirit, and spills over to touch the other people around her and brings out the best in them.

            In my experience, Ilarion has a genuine gift for helping others heal. I asked her to work with me when I was going through radiation treatment and looking for therapeutic touch and positive spiritual energy, and Ilarion imparted both in ways that I could really take in and use. Our sessions helped me feel so relaxed and rejuvenated that I was able to rest and heal better because of them, and find sustenance during a challenging time.

            Ilarion is also a wonderful yoga teacher! Her classes are immensely enjoyable and also challenging in a good way. Sometimes she tells interesting stories that add to your perspective on life, sometimes she just concentrates intently on the work in class. Either way, I always find myself feeling enriched and grateful to her as a teacher and a role model.
